Job Overview
As the Head of Sales and Distribution, you will report to the CEO: COID and Group Operations, spearheading the growth strategy to double covered COID lives to 2 million by 2030. You will drive the design, execution, and optimization of the COID Lives Growth Strategy, refining the sales and distribution model while expanding into key sectors such as mining and metals. This role requires strategic leadership, stakeholder engagement, and performance-driven sales execution.  
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute the COID Lives Growth Strategy, aligned with business objectives and group aspirations.
- Implement a scalable Sales and Distribution Model for sector penetration and customer acquisition.
- Align strategies with the Integrated Group Value Proposition and Service Model.
- Continuously refine sales approaches based on market trends and client needs.
Sales and Distribution Management
- Oversee the full sales lifecycle: market segmentation, prospecting, acquisition, retention, and growth.
- Establish and drive sales targets, go-to-market strategies, and performance KPIs.
- Lead, mentor, and train the sales and distribution team on COID regulations and business goals.
- Develop and monitor incentive models to enhance team performance.
Operational Execution & Enablement
- Execute market-specific expansion plans in collaboration with digital, marketing, actuarial, and customer teams.
- Strengthen relationships with key stakeholders, including the Compensation Fund.
- Monitor customer segment penetration (exclusive, premium, concierge, essential) and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Manage the sales and distribution budget, ensuring optimal resource allocation.
Monitoring, Reporting & Risk Management
- Track real-time sales performance and ensure compliance with governance frameworks.
- Provide monthly and quarterly insights to Exco on growth metrics and revenue impact.
- Embed a culture of compliance within the sales function.
Stakeholder & Relationship Management
- Build strategic partnerships with industry bodies, brokers, and partner networks.
- Collaborate closely with the Head of Group Customer Service & Experience for unified customer value delivery.
- Foster cross-functional alignment with Product Development, Underwriting, and Claims teams.

Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- NQF Level 8 in Sales & Distribution, Business, Insurance, or related field.
- NQF5 120 FAIS credits and RE1 & RE5 certifications.
- 8-10 years of sales, distribution, or business development experience, with 5+ years in senior leadership.
- Proven track record in COID, workmen’s compensation, or social insurance.
- Experience in mining/metals or high-risk sectors is advantageous.

Sales & Growth
- Expertise in sales planning, market development, and channel management.
Customer-Centric Execution
- Ability to implement tiered service models and leverage customer insights.
